]]>• Digital TV aerials are more common than not these days, so it’s unlikely you’ll need to invest in a new one. The best way to test your aerial is to plug in something like a Freeview box to see if the digital signal comes through loud and clear.
• TV sets manufactured after 2000 tend to be digital compatible. A good layman indicator is to look for the Digital Tuner tool on the TV set; if the TV is marked only as DTV-Ready, it’s an analogue set and won’t work with the digital signal.
The digital switch occurs in fourteen areas – West Country, Granada, Wales and Border have already undergone the change, with The West, Central, Yorkshire, STV North, STV Central and Anglia set to be completed by the end of 2011. London, Meridian, Ulster and Tyne Tees are scheduled for the switch during 2012.
If you’ve noticed your TV system is incompatible with the new signal, now could be a great time to reboot your TV viewing! We stock tons of different system options, from the standard Sky Freesat box to the latest Sky Plus remotes.
]]>Whether you are simply searching for a Sky remote to replace the one in your living room which has seen better days or not been seen at all for some time now, or investigating Sky boxes for the first time, we offer a site which is easy to navigate and understand. For years we have been helping to bring the joys of satellite television to the homes of Britain.
With the options available to watch in HD, pause and record television and enjoy a wider range of quality programs; investing in a Digibox will revolutionise the way that you watch television. If you invest in Sky Plus, you can cook the dinner without missing your favourite soaps or go for a family walk on Sunday without worrying about missing the F1.Whilst the box or Sky remote may look complicated, we assure you that it’s not and like all other technology, you will quickly get the hang of it.
Whilst it may not be your priority right now, when the winter comes around and more time is spent indoors watching TV, you may be grateful for that little bit more variety and flexibility provided by Sky and Freesat.

Many factors come into consideration when deciding on which free TV service you wish to take up. For me, it is a very simple choice as I receive both good Freesat and Freeview reception I will always choose Freeview.
My main reason for this decision is simply the Freeview channels offered such as Dave and Dave Ja Vu which Freesat do not have. In my opinion these channels always has something worthwhile to watch. Freeview has 1 more HD channel until April when Channel 4 HD joins Freesat and includes UKTV, Virgin and TMF which also does not feature in Freesat channels.
So the question presents itself “Why use a Freesat service?” The simple answer is reception problems. Certain areas of the country just cannot receive Freeview reception to the quality needed. Missing channels and poor reception using Freeview meant that in these areas Freesat was the solution. In fact according to CNET UK an estimated 642,000 homes currently watch Freeview HD. Interestingly, over 1 million Freeview HD boxes and TVs have been sold to date, so nearly half of those people who’ve bought Freeview HD kit can’t use it yet (because the service hasn’t been rolled out to their area). The good news is that 2 million more will have access to it by the time of the royal wedding and it will cover 98.5 per cent of homes by the time the Olympics rolls around in 2012.
The other advantage to Freesat is the cost of installation. Due to the number of people in the UK who have previously had Sky they still have the equipment installed at the house ready to use for Freesat. A new Freesat install is also cheaper than an aerial install with a Freesat install being around *£65 and an aerial installation to 1 point being anything from **£80-£150 in most cases.
So the answer is simple really Freeview if you can get it and Freesat if you can’t.
